The New Fall Schedule Is Here!

We spent a TON of time tweaking and refining this schedule to meet your needs. We hope you love it!

Here’s what you need to know:

1. We’ve added an “Express Zone” — 45-minute, action-packed classes to help you maximize your efficiency and time.

Every 6a, 7a and 5:15p class (Monday thru Friday) is 45-minutes — designed that way so that you can get a great workout AND get the kids to school, or get to work, on time. In addition, we’ll have “express” classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12:15p.

2. We’ve added a new “early evening” class at 5:15p!

Perfect for the person who gets home from work between 4-5 (or earlier). This class is scheduled so that you can get your workout in, shower and still have time for dinner with the family.

3. We’ve added a new class – Buns & Guns!

Great name, right? This is a creation of Master Coach Katie Watson. 45-minutes of high-intensity training focused on sculpting your arms and toning your glutes.

And great news, Jennifer Tyson — a certified run coach, personal trainer and group fitness instructor — has joined the team! Jennifer will be teaching Buns & Guns, Tabata Boot Camp, and HIIT Boot Camp.

Again, we’ve worked really hard to create a schedule that makes it as easy as possible for you to work out how you want and when you want. We hope you love it.

The Most Important Thing

“The Olympic Creed”

The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered, but to have fought well.


I was reminded of the Olympic Creed this week when a new client, trying his first HIIT Bootcamp, exhausted himself after just half a class and had to stop.

Afterwards, he was disappointed: “I’m so out of shape!” he lamented.

But, from my perspective, he had nothing to be disappointed about.

My view: It didn’t matter that he didn’t finish the workout; what mattered is that he showed up in the first place. He took a first step towards getting healthy when he could have continued to make excuses.

As it says in the Creed, “the most important thing in life is not the triumph, but the struggle.”

Let’s keep the Olympic Creed in mind this week — at the studio, at home and at work.

Let’s worry less about winning or losing and, instead, simply commit to showing up and doing the hard work that moves us forward.

Make The Most Of Your “Dash”

Our community recently came together celebrate the life of Johnny Slick, son our beloved instructor and friend, Kara.

It was a beautiful and moving tribute to a young man who passed away unexpectedly but, in just 15 short years, touched countless lives with his energy, sense of humor and friendship.

In his comments, Johnny’s high school football coach reminded all in attendance of a simple truth: “in life, as in football, the only thing you can control is your attitude and your effort.”

Throughout the service, friends and family members shared touching stories of Johnny’s “relentlessly positive” attitude and out-sized effort.

As I listened, a simple thought repeated in my mind: “This young man made the most of his short life…am I making the most of mine?”

If you, like me, realize that you could be doing more, here’s the good news: we can start today.

Today is a perfect opportunity to start fresh; to take that first step towards becoming the person we want to be, that we are supposed to be.

Three Ideas To Help You Make The Most Of Your Morning

Early Morning Workout

Have you ever felt like you’ve got too much to do, and too little time to do it?

Yeah, me too.

And, in my experience, when I’m feeling that way the first temptation is always to skip my workout.

And when I do…my energy level and willpower is lower, I get **less** done (in **more** time) and, well, a vicious cycle begins.

To combat this negative trend, I’ve turned to a simple solution: **getting the workout in early.**

Working out early works for me for three reasons:

1. I have the time. Even in the most high-pressure work environments, you can usually get away with not responding to emails before 8a. In the morning, I can exercise without fear that I am missing something important. (Of course, our son Jack needs to be cared for, so Sarah and I rotate responsibility for him while the other gets in a workout).

2. An early morning workout jumpstarts my body; boosting my metabolism and energy levels and setting me up for success for the rest of the day. The best news: I feel these benefits continue **all** day. It’s better than a cup of coffee (seriously).

3. Only one shower! I love efficiency (who doesn’t?).

What are you teaching your children, by the way you live your life?

Ben recently wrote a article on the subject (“Your Leadership Legacy: What Are You Teaching Your Kids?”) with a simple message: We must be intentional about how we live our life, because our kids are watching.

At Fit Culture, we view every class as an opportunity to not only shape and strengthen our bodies, but also to build within ourselves the perseverance, the resilience and the commitment required to be the best mom, dad, wife, husband and human being we can be.

We also believe that in taking care of our bodies, we teach our children how best to take care of theirs.

This week, work out as if your kids were watching; become the fitness “role” model you want them to have.
